What is GentleWaves™?
GentleWaves Light Emitting Diode (LED) Photomodulation System delivers gentle, very low-intensity, non-thermal light energy to stimulate collagen and reverse the appearance of photoaging. This non-invasive treatment revitalizes your skin as it works to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
 
How does it work?
GentleWaves uses specially coded arrays of light emitting diodes to modulate the activity of living cells. Unlike other laser, pulsed light or radiofrequency techniques used today for skin rejuvenation, GentleWaves exclusive core technology delivers very low-intensity, non-thermal light energy to stimulate collagen and reverse the appearance of photoaging.

In other words, GentleWaves can increase collagen production while decreasing the production of enzymes that breakdown and age the skin to produce smoother, more youthful-looking skin. 
 
What will the treatment be like?
GentleWaves treatments are very relaxing. The area to be treated is positioned in front of the GentleWaves unit and is exposed to two panels of over 2,000 yellow cascading LED lights for less than one minute. A typical appointment lasts about 30 minutes. 
 
Are there any side effects?
Some patients will experience mild redness immediately following the treatment which lasts only a brief period of time (less than 4 hours). You can return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
 
Does GentleWaves work?
GentleWaves is the first and only LED device to receive marketing approval by the FDA for a medical claim associated with cosmetic improvement of aging and sun-damaged skin. It is specifically FDA approved for the treatment of wrinkles around the eyes.
 
How long before I see results?
GentleWaves results show themselves gradually. A full GentleWaves treatment is typically given over the course of 8 appointments with appointments scheduled once a week. Indivudual results vary but patients have reported noticeable changes between the 4th and 6th treatment, with improvements continuing up to 6 months after the final treatment. Skin will be gradually revitalized with improved texture, tone and elasticity. The patient will also notice the gradual smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles. 
 
What does GentleWaves treat?
GentleWaves treats wrinkles, uneven pigmentation and enlarged pores. It can be used on the face, neck and chest.
